Two Poems About the Dark

One long, one short. Thought I’d put these two together as I’ve not posted for a while so the little one is basically…

SPECIAL BONUS EDITION POETRY!

Is that a thing? It is now.

I Am Not Afraid of the Dark
I am not afraid of the dark.
Dark is my title,
Black, my name.
Devoid of colour at night,
Yet coloured during day.

I Have Never Seen the Night as Dark

I have never seen the night as dark.
Where eyes fail,
Ears prevail.

A sensory scene silently
Presents itself to us
Each and every eve.

I have never heard the night be silent
Where quiet reigns
Imagination sustains
My darkest musings

To feel the sadness of a kiss,
To hear content,
To touch its bliss.

To feel the wisdom in a walk
To hear her weight
To touch his hate.

I have never seen the night as dark.
When I’ve had no vision of the world
I have learned to envision my ark

And sail myself to safer shores.
